An Exploration in Visualizing World Peace

Scott Frouschauer’s “The Word On The Street” series of public art installations has surprised and encouraged viewers in municipalities across the country. By taking the materials and visual language of street signs, the work aims to create compassion and empathy in a place that people expect to see negativity and control.

A Large Scale Installation for Burning Man 2020

Now he is expanding on this concept and turning it into a monumental evocation of World Peace. A circle of 8 monumental towers display The Peace Poem in 8 different languages, focusing their energy into the center of the circle, granting the viewer 8 perspectives on the same idea.

“If there is to be PEACE in the World,
there must be PEACE in the Nations.
If there is to be PEACE in the Nations,
there must be PEACE in the Cities.
If there is to be PEACE in the Cities,
there must be PEACE between Neighbors.
If there is to be PEACE between Neighbors,
there must be PEACE in the Home.
If there is to be PEACE in the Home,
there must be PEACE in the Heart.”
